w164 Sam Swap

I want to swap rear sam unit in my 09 W164 with Sam from my sister's 09 W164 identical car in order to troubleshoot (confirm) a sam issue. Will it need to be coded to my car even if other car is absolutely identical?

If its the same sort of thing as a W220, then no, the SAMs are not coded, and are swappable.
I have an electrical problem with my S55, the replacement I fitted was from a Diesel, and it all worked fine, although it didnt cure the fault which looks like a flap under the supercharger.
Just make sure its the same part number.
