I just bought a 2018 A-Class (1.5D) on the weekend and noticed that while crawling along at slow speed there is a odd (whirring?) sound. Even with 20 years driving experience I have no real idea about cars and so I'm really not sure if this is perfectly normal, only thing I can say for sure is that I've never had a car that makes this sound before. I'd just like to know if it's something I need to pick up with the dealer or (hopefully) not.
Under normal driving conditions it can't be heard at all, it's only noticeable if creeping along at low speeds with the radio off, and even then it's pretty quiet. The wife and my son don't notice it until I point it out.
Here's a video, although it sounds louder here than it does in person.
