W202 1999 digital climate control unit - recirculating switch

I wonder if there's a reset function to test different air con settings on 1999 W202 ECC unit?

When I press the recirculating switch to block outside air comming into the cabin I suspect the actuator doesn't close the port for outside air entering through the vents.
When I drive behind stinky diesel cars and press reciculating switch it should immediately block smell comming from outside.
I suspect the actuators gone stuck not closing the system?
How do I test if system works properly and see if the actuators work or not?

I have replaced cabin active carbon filter, I always use good stuff like MB OE or MANN filters
Filter doesn't help to neutralize strange smell comming from outside.

There is a full set of diagnostics on those units by pressing a key sequence. Should be here on the forum somewhere

I know about the different codes and readings in the system.
What I need is how to test by pressing the different buttons on head unit to see if actuators open and close the recirculating function?

Ah, sorry, I’m not aware of any way to activate the actuators
