Well, I need to sell 'the barge'.
Car drives, drives well actually and has an MOT until December, no advisories on the last one and it was done at a Farmer Autocare so I was expecting some made up issue to be honest!
Tax has 11.5 months to run so £200 of tax on the car.
Why spares? Well, the end of the exhaust fell off, the very tip leaving a hole straight from the box. Note to others, if this happens to you, and you don't notice, and you are, say, driving from Scotland to Yorkshire, it will melt the back bumper and the boot carpet. I suggest stopping near newcastle before it sets on fire.
This done, the RAC can bodge it and you can drive on.
I digress, so there is a cut in the bumper by the exhaust, car needs a back bow really and of course, for looks, a new bumper. However, she has a number of parking knocks, scratches and the like so hardly an issue.
Rust - not actually that bad. The usual areas of course but all solid and touched up. Not the best spray job but it all seems very solid. Certainly nothing on the front of the arch, just bubbles around it.
Happy to take pics (non on me at the moment) if requested.
Everything, bar the sunroof which is slightly off the runners (no leaks) works, windows, mirrors (heated) the lot. The original tool roll and triangle are there and the spare is brand new as I discovered it was a directional one so had it swapped. Rest of the tyres are all good.
Wheel trims are unmarked.
Car has Full and I mean full service history. She's covered 129,000 so far, I've done about 20,000 of those in the last 18 months in all weather (put a shovel and salt in the boot through winter, never used them). Service book is all stamped up and I have all old MOTs to back up the miles. You can see the MOT dates match the garage and service stamps in the book.
I think I am only the third owner. There are three listed on the log book but the one before me was the dealer I got it off as he took it in part ex. It's been a signature used car at some point and looking at the service book suggests two serious owners.
Decision has been taken to get a estate so car has to go. Given the back box issue, I can't imagine her selling for all that much which is sad but it might make a good run about for an enthusiast, hence the post.
As it stands, car will probably come with a private plate on (nothing special by the way) but if anyone needs a new spare, trims etc etc then let me know.
Complete car available too for about £450. Reason? £200 of tax to weigh in and £180 at the scrap dealer plus a few bits to sell on. Less if you don't want the tax of course.
Anyway, car or bits or pics, drop me a PM. Probably need to go in the next week given the new continous insurance laws.
Cheers,
m.
