Dear Team

I noticed that my fuel gauge needle is down and does not move at all.

I have put petrol in this and needle does not move.

I had the running for a while , and then it stopped, all signs showed that out of fuel, so i put may be 3litrels in and then car starts up,

but when I drained the fuel, when taking out the fuel sensor unit driver rear, i have more than 8 litres???

Drivers rear
i have removed the unit that behind the drivers back side, and first 2 photos shows the unit out, this is very dirty and no good (p/n: MA202 470 02 41 =superseded by MA208 470 10 41). i have ordered another one.
the third photo shows a long plastic arm i can see when this unit is removed, does the float of the unit fix into the slot you see in this photo?

Passengers rear
there really is no fuel to drain here, but i am getting a massive issue trying to removed the metal ring - 4th photo shows the tool i have and you can see the pins have been bent, as the ring is not moving, and ideas or help?

They do get very tight. I have used a hammer and punch a few times to get them open.
