Ok that is helpful. I guess the brake sensor is behind the brake pedal and runs to the front SAM (N10/1)? Is there any connection from front to rear SAM for brake lights? Maybe its the same RedYellow cable?
Struggling to find the brake switch, it's not on the peal in my 2002 W203 200k. It must be on the servo in the engine bay, anyone got any photos?
My current thinking is it may be easier just to run a simple cable direct to the brake bulbs then find the issue. Then I can do the same for the indicators.
Mark, thanks. I bought the service manual from ebay which gives me access to all the wiring diagrams. I will try and find what I have done wrong but there are so many systems and circuits that overlap, its a bit of a minefield! Do you happen to know a decent local auto electrician? I am in Essex too.

I am sure I read somewhere that on the 203 the switch is on the brake booster.
Where in Essex are you, its a big place. I am off M11 J7
As for an Auto Electrician, sorry no I have so far managed to sort my own electrical gremlims. Start a new thread for recommended indies. Many travel miles to use a trusted Indie, Ollie (PCS in Horndean) and Terry (Wayne Gates, Harrow) are two that I use and would use again
