finally 18 months later after watching this video iv probably found out whats causing my random no start issue that was always temporarily cured by a jump from a running car (not jump a pack).

it still could be the SAM but at least i dont have to pull out the jump leads anymore

what is the best solution for a failing ECU and at what cost?? many thanks

I have watched your video.. and when you turn on the ignition, I do not see a battery warning light illuminated.
This would indicate to me, that either the regulator in your alternator is faulty, OR the battery warning light 'bulb' has failed which will prevent the charging circuit initiating the charge cycle. This will lead to your car running its battery down to the point that other circuits malfunction or fail to operate.. causing multiple spurious warnings.

I had a battery warning light ' bulb' fail on my G wagen, leading to odd starting and non starting behaviour.

worth checking.

..also the relay you are poking with a pen, should not be visible, it should have its own plastic cover clipped over the top of it, the fact that you have to poke it to make it operate, and the cover being missing would suggest it is broken, or is recieving insufficient voltage from the battery.

Thats not my video its one i found but my symptoms are exactly the same...

Im pretty sure its the ECU as stated In the video title. The battery charges normally.

Also I know about the relay cover.. I took it off like the guy did and its how I start the car now when the its being a ****.

Battery sounds healthy,
but eliminate low battery voltage when the start fails.

I'm assuming that relay is the permissive to SAM?? Have you tried replacing that relay with new?

I had an intermittent no start issue on a BMW. I replaced the engine management relay and it was cured.

Relay is fine iv tested it with a supply it closes and continuity is good, could be the sam will try that site thanks
