Hi guys, I have a split on the seam on the base of my drivers seat in my c180. All the drivers seats im finding on ebay etc have a lot of wear on the bolsters and are generally shabby, however there are plenty of passenger seats that look much better... does anyone know if the passenger seat base is a direct fit on to the drivers side? Or if the leather covers are interchangable? They look the same from above, just wondered if anyone had tried it? Thanks

Look for a local car interior specialist.

Removing seat covers is not easy, neither is refitting.

Is it Leather or Arctico?

I have done a few in the past, it should be within my abilities to take them off and refit them. Unfortunately im not a seamstress tho so repairing it is not something I can do. Only local firms about want to much money for it to be worthwhile... I think its a synthetic leather

Just a quick update for anyone who may have the same issue in future, I have today received a front passenger leather sport seat. The base came off very easily disconnecting the seat occupied switch and removing two screws at the front of the seat base. The base is exactly the same shape as the drivers seat base and bolted directly in place. I left the weight sensing switch in place and just tucked the cable in the seat base.

I was also able to make one good passenger seat adjustment switch out of the two switches so buying a new passenger seat has been a pretty economical replacement
