I have a February 2008 Mercedes C class with Comand sat nav. I have installed the latest update discs only to find the hard disc drive is full. It turns out that early 2008 C class Comand units had a smaller HDD up until October 2008 and Mercedes stopped making update discs as from 2014, so the ones I installed were for the larger HDD. Mercedes Benz main dealer cant seem to fix the problem by performing a factory reset. I believe it may require a Firmware update or wipe of the HDD and then the proper discs installing. I now have the proper discs as supplied by Mercedes, but they will not install. Since installing the later (wrong) update discs, I think the system is looking for a later firmware than is on the 2014 update discs, which it rejects. Can anyone help me or know where I can find a specialist as Mercedes main dealer doesn't want to know, telling me they have supplied the correct discs.

Give comand.co.uk a call, if anyone can help they're the ones, they know more about Comand than MB!! Hopefully they can rescue your Comand system, the most recent maps you can install are the 2014-15 ones, although Comand say they have a way to sort the HDD so later updates will install - but it's not cheap, and will involve a trip to Surrey!

BTW, it's not the size of the HDD that's the problem, it's the size of the Nav partition (the HDD has I believe 4 partitions on it). We investigated this problem a while ago (I have the same NTG4 early Comand as you).

Please update this thread, as others will be interested in the outcome.
