Hi Guys,

Just thought to do a little thread for the work thats been done on my car to bring it back from the salvage yard to the road!

Here is what she looked like when I went to pick her up

Here she is arriving at home

Got her down to a local garage and after a good bartering session we agreed on a figure and I was to supply the parts needed.

We agreed on a new rear bumper, 2 new doors, wing & Wing Mirror.

Work started pretty quickly on it and here are some of the progress pics i took along the way

I was also wanting to get the wheels refurbished since they had a few battle scars.
Here is a pic of the worst one

Got them back a few days later and all rubbered up

And here is the finished product

Had to take the tinted windows out as its being used as a taxi and the local council (t**ts) wont allow tinted windows.

Other than that, its looking pretty decent IMO... not sure im feeling the front grille tho... lemme know of any decent alternatives.

Cheers guys! :bannana:

Nice job.

Could have saved a bundle though....would have come up just as good with a hours work and T-Cut :-)

^my thoughts as well

Thats an option dude. I ideally don't want a big MB badge on the front. But I also like the look of the new diamond grille as the newer cars come with...

Red C220 & Chady
This ended up costing me about £10.5k
Ive seen the same spec car but with full leather instead of half for £15.5k
Being a CAT D, it will be valued at less but that's not I'm not fussed about the resale value as its going to be a taxi for a long time (I hope)

Flackadder
I started t-cutting it but got bored. You should have seen the state of it before :D

I have the tinted glass available if anyone is after it along with a twin exhaust diffuser :thumb:

Lol, each picture looked worse and worse and then suddenly it's all fixed!

Have a look here: CKS Performance Mercedes W204 C Class Grilles
They are all big badge models, but you might find something you like?

Re the twin defuser/exhaust bumper insert, is it the twin 2 pipe type? ie. 4x exhaust outlet or just a 2 pipe outlet? Pic?

Cheers for the link mate. I dont like the the lines on either side of the badge. I later realised that the diamond grille also has them so might just go for the C36 style one.

The diffuser is a 2 pipe outlet.

Thanks for the pic, it is what I already have being a C350 with twin outlet. If I can get a "cost effective" C63 style quad pipe outlet, I might be tempted ;)

You are in the same camp as me re the in grill chrome bars leading away from the MB star. I'm going to get mine wrapped on my grill :)

If i spot one while browsing, i will drop you a link mate.

I think I'm going to go down the wrap route too. Think matte black would be best. I might get some wrap and give it a go. Then get a professional to redo it after I've made a dogs dinner out of it :D

Cracking jobbie looks well mint, like a new shiny pin.
You'd never have a clue it was a messed up motor
Very well executed rescue

Thank you very much kind sir :bannana:
