Hi Guys,

ha d couple of colder mornings and when starting usually it starts on the first spin, its taking 3 or 4 goes then rattles and starts. An engine light came on but on the next start disappeared and when i read the car with my scanner it shows no new or stored codes! The car is absolutely fine when warm, could it be the coil pack/s?? any help appreciated

I had this with my C250 CGI estate last year. Turned out to be the battery failing
MB supplied and fitted new one and no further prblems.
Appreciate that there could be a myriad of other reasons but a quick visit to get the battery checked may be worthwhile.
My battery was original and 7 years old at the time.
Hope this helps
Jim

Your car is likely fitted with the Turbocharged 1.8L M271 engine.

If so, have the timing gear checked... hopefully it will be something more mundane, but better safe than sorry.

You can also Google "M271 timing failure" for more info.

(Unfortunately the issue was never fully resolved, in spite of modifications to the timing gear in later variants)

I have recently had a full service and had this checked as part of it so fingers crossed its all still ok
