W204 cabin air intake ducting silver hear shield?

Anyone know where i can get the silver heat shield? The part doesn’t come with it from merc new anymore, I guess to save cost they removed it but it must have a purpose, hard to remove from second hand part without damaging it… any ideas? It appears that the 2015 batch has the shielding and the latest 2016 doesn’t, see pic
