W204 Coupe Rear Speakers

Hi, has anyone changed the rear speakers in a coupe? Interested to know how easy it is, or not! Also getting to the wires of the rear sub.

Haven't changed them but understand it is fairly involved as the seat need to come out before you can remove the side panels. Where abouts is the subwoofer?

I have replaced mine, as said, it’s a ball ache, the seat base needs to come out to get the side panels out, these are in 2 parts and don’t come out easily, once they are out you will need adapters like the ones in the link, the speakers are attached to a plastic housing that clips into the metal inner panel, these housings come out by turning them anti-clockwise about 15 degrees, this will make fitting the replacement speakers and adaptors easier.

This is the only picture I have, this is with the top section removed, it is just clipped on but the 2 parts are locked together and need to be unlocked before you can get them apart

Thanks for the reply. Do you have the rear seats out?

Just the base, centre of the cup holder is a screw, then it’s pull hard in the middle of each seat to release it from the clips and it slides out, it’s hard to get out and you’ll think you’d going to break something [emoji3061]
