W204 C180K
Hello, new member here.

I recently got a w204 2009 180k and whilst it's not the fastest thing ever (coming from a 350bhp Subaru Impreza) it was the sensible family choice.

I really like the car but really want to make it look a bit better, I certainly don't want to make a full C63 replica but I do like the rear end of a C63.

I'm looking at diffusers but all I can find are twin exits which isn't the end of the world as I'm going to get new exhaust as this mild steel is terrible.

Only issue is the diffusers I see, seem to fit the facelift rear end which has the small lip above the diffuser, As show in the pic. Mine is the older style which doesn't have this lip and slight different style.

Just looking for suggestions or any advice what will fit and what won't?

Facelift rear bumper will fit your car, but check out Carbon Crazy on Facebook they should have a prefacelift version which may fit. Then just hang false tips under the other exit

Thank you, will do. What are the differences between the facelift on the front and rear?

Bumpers, bonnet, lights, DRL’s... actually I think the rear bumpers are the same

Ah so a facelift front wouldn't fit ? Quite like the facelift or a splitter

Everything fits

You’ll need bonnet, lights, bumper, drls and surrounds for any of them to fit as they’re differently shaped

Personally on a prefacelift W204, you could fit facelift rear lights and have them coded, and fit LED number plate bulbs. That’ll freshen up the rear end nicely

Then as you please with the diffuser

Front end, fit some clear wedge side bulbs (gets rid of that horrid egg yolk look) and then fit some Osram nightbreakers :thumb:

You can see what I mean, at the minute it's just a bit meh. I think a proper twin exhaust on the left might be enough to make it better as I'm not sure buying a new bumper etc will add that much really.

I also think two twins like the C63 will be too much for the car that it is.

Order some 3d gel plates plain, without the GB bit. Easy freshen up :thumb:

Good idea too! I've found this diffuser which I think I'll go for instead of the facelift version. Shame it's not single outlet though as I'd prefer single twin opposed to dual.

Like this

The thing is that modifying is a rabbit hole, especially doing either of the front or back ends

Perhaps start with alloys? Is it a amg sport version or SE? In fact looking at your car I want one of those license plate holders that says AMG!

It's the base model SE I believe. It's a great family car and I got it off my cousin who doesn't care about cars so he bought it brand new and got the base model sadly.

I just want to jazz it up slightly. All I want to do is get a new twin exhaust single outlet if I can find the right diffuser, maybe a front splitter but not too fussed and new alloys, only because mine are getting bubbly.

Am I right in thinking that diffuser above is standard AMG C63 pre face lift?

Ah, that changes things slightly. Someone may correct me, but the bumpers of an SE and the Sport are definitely different, resulting in the fact you may need a sport bumper to fit a diffuser to it, especially a C63 diffuser

May be worth just fitting sport bumpers all round, adding nightbreakers and clear side bulbs to the front headlamps, new gel plate to rear and led number plate lights

I have the front with nightbreakers already, but yes I might look to get sport bumpers, I have a friend who owns a paint shop so second hand is fine as I can get them repaired and painted easily.

Where are good online shops for new Merc parts without going direct obviously.

When I originally purchased all facelift parts to go on my prefacelift (never fitted in the end) I just got them from a mixture of gumtree and eBay breakers. Just make sure you get the right part numbers, which I did have but have since lost :wallbash:

Ha no worries!

This is the front end, I think a splitter will help it look better. It's the same as the picture minus the bonnet badge, it's now the flat badge.

Like I say, it's simply the back end I'm not keen on! Might just end up buying a new rear bumper.

Forgot to attach pic again.
