Just a quick review of the service that I have received whilst having my windows tinted.
After a recommendation in a thread on here, I researched Global Tint. Operating through franchises, they cover a large part of the country. The service is 100% mobile, and the technician that I had today covers the whole of Yorkshire.
Their website quoted a price of £174 for a B pillar back tint. After following their page on Facebook, to see photos of vehicles that they had tinted, I used their quote generator though Facebook Messenger. This quote included a 'New Year' discount that had expired, but when queried they said that they would honour the discount. This meant the job was completed for £134. They have different shades of film, but I chose the Luna one, which is supposedly closest to factory tint. (I can't remember the % figures, sorry)
I received a phone call this morning from the technician expressing concerns about the weather. Rain isn't a problem apparently, and in fact helps, but it was very windy here today. He asked if I would like to re-schedule, or if I had a garage that could house the back end of the car. I explained that one half of my double garage ad been turned into a home gym, and the other half had all the usual stuff, pressure washer, summer tyres, bbq, patio furniture etc. I explained that if I wasn't recovering from a recent hip replacement I would be able to move all the stuff to make space. He asked me not to do that, but then said he would do it when he arrived at my property. He also said that he would move my car for me, as I advised him that also struggle with that at the moment.
The job took just short of 3 hours in total. The technician took the time to explain all aspects of the process at each stage. I was surprised, but pleased to see, that he popped the top of the door cards off, and took out the window seals. The videos I'd watched previously on YouTube showed installers just sliding the film down past the seals. There is a guarantee on both the materials and workmanship for as long as I own the car. If there is a problem they say they will replace free of charge.
The film may appear to have bubbles or ripples for a short length of time, but this is said to be the moisture trapped between film and glass, and will settle within a week.
It's too early to assess the longevity obviously, but I cannot fault the attitude of the technician, and obviously appreciate the discount honoured by the sales team.
Not to everyone's taste (Nothing ever is!
), but here's before and after photos.

Now the tints are done I can look at having my wheels powder coated in a different colour, but I want to tie that in with swapping back onto summer tyres so I can save myself the changeover cost, I am a Yorkshireman after all!
