Anyone have experience of installing a dog guard / safety screen for a W205 estate?

Isn't there a safety screen in the load cover cassette?

There is, but as it eats into the room in the back for the dog, I don’t have it fitted.

in any event, it doesn’t seem the strongest item.

My local dealer says they don’t do one, so any suggestions for good quality alternatives will be gratefully received!

Those are designed to stop luggage rather than dogs and normally have a gap at each side.

We also have a C300 estate and have a 'boot buddy' to protect the load area (which I would definitely recommend) - they actually do a clear dog guard as well:

I understand that but the OP did also say "safety screen".
Personally I wouldn't trust a dog in anything other than a full crate.

I had one of those Guardsman ones in a Mondeo estate i had very well made and i would recommend them if you like the look of it. It was above the seat so doesn't eat into the room in the back.

Another vote for Guardsman - not the cheapest but a bonus of these is that they pick up on the fittings already in the car so there's no cutting holes in stuff.
