W205 Not selecting Park when engine turned off

When I turn off the engine the car used to go into 'P' automatically. Now it goes into 'N' and subseqently can roll away.
It now clicks into Park when I open the door.

I am not aware of changing anything.

Any thoughts why this would change and how to reset it

Pretty sure mine only goes to Neutral on switch-off, but Park when the door is opened. Safer to engage the parking brake before switching off and even engage Park manually.

Well mine did used to go into park which was safer as it cant roll when the engine is turned off. I have no idea why its changed.

Another change recentlly is holding the buttons down on the remote dont operate the windows up/down.

Any thoughts?

Sounds normal to me.

mine only goes into P when I select it or open the door.

Convenience opening is operated via the IR function and needs to be fairly close the driver's door handle. I found it very temperamental, especially in very bright sunlight

Maybe i'm going mad. A distinct possibity stuck in the house for months on end. Thanks
