I'm reaching out to see if anyone has experienced a similar issue with their W205 Mercedes and could offer some advice. I've encountered a problem with the wiper linkage on the driver side of my vehicle. Specifically, the linkage keeps popping out, causing the driver side wiper to stop working, while the passenger side wiper continues to function perfectly.

I've attached a picture to this post to show exactly where the linkage is popping out. The motor itself seems to be in good working order, as everything operates smoothly when I manually pop the linkage back in place. However, the issue is becoming more frequent, and I'm concerned about it happening during a critical moment while driving.

Before I consider replacing the entire linkage, I'm hoping to explore potential repair options to save on costs. Has anyone successfully repaired this issue, or is a complete replacement the only reliable solution? Any tips, tricks, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Is it possible to drill through the whole thing , pack the ball and socket with grease and fit a split pin ,just to keep it together.

You can get wiper arm repair clips on eBay - the pyre socket has worn so the ball pin can easily pop out the clip is in effect a spring metal cage that holds it all together.

Used them on daughters Swift. About £5 iirc.
Pretty universal.

Gives you time to hunt for new linkages or connectors.

From you pic it looked like you should be able to lever out and replace the socket part of that. But if not the clips above will do the job.

Thank you mate! great suggestion.

I did buy these however, despite being quite universal I just could not get it into place and gave up lol.

I can't see how they would tbh . Yours is flat across the top .

Only way out of this is to drill a small hole right through both parts, and put a nut and bolt in . Both parts just need holding to gether so the can move .
