W206 Delivery Delay

So I ordered a W206 C Class in February ( C300 premium plus + DAP). I am yet to even get a build date, which I gather is kinda the norm these days. What I do find weird is I feel I am being discouraged by the dealer, to get a car with the driver's assistance package.
When I ordered the car, the sales rep kept asking if I really needed it and have called been called thrice now basically to say there is no update on the car and if I would consider an alternative without the DAP. I've made it quite clear that it's feature that I want, and I'm not paying thousands of pounds buying a car, only to skimp on a roughly £1500 option that I really want.
Anyone else had a similar experience or is this weird?

My guess is that they have something without the DAP either delivered and already in stock, or with a confirmed build slot in the not-too-distant future that they want to shift.

Personally, I have had a couple of cars with the DAP I wouldn't be inclined to forego it.

I agree with st13phil, I suspect Mercedes taken something out of the package due to component shortages. It might also be the reason why you haven't had a build date. They may know that by taking off the DAP package it might speed up the build time.

You're probably right about that. I agree, I've used it on a loan car and made up my mind to have it on my next car. I guess I'll just keep being patient.
