As far as I know, the a208 AMG was not fitted with adjustable ride height, and this one looks to be sitting quite high.

I think the suspension settings were different for differing markets. Certainly to date the american market has required softer suspension than europe.

I spent about an hour looking at these A208 55's last night and there are three or four of them for sale! If only they were RHD

Alfie, you're no stranger to a bit of car modification. :) Have you considered transplanting the engine and gearbox from a CLK55 into a clean CLK cab?

Admittedly it would never be truly original in the chassis number sense, but you could ensure you had a very complete specification (COMAND, parktronic, memory seats, etc, etc, etc).

It would be a massive undertaking, but also an opportunity to create a unique machine.

In the mean time I'm strongly motivated by this £100! I'll keep my eyes peeled.

To be honest, I'd rather import a LHD one and convert it to RHD than drop an engine etc into an existing RHD chassis. I'd just have to find someone to undertake the conversion:eek:

or just be 'cool' and drive a LHD ...

all that power means it's a whole lot easier to overtake on a single lane carriageways :)

Yeah, LHD feels fine driving in the UK. Also if you stop somewhere u open your door right to the pavement...It has its advantages!

I agree, its just a psychological thing, think you get used to it very quickly and if you can get your head around it, you can save some serious cash! take Audi TT's, there are loads of LHD's over here and they are a good 25-30% less than the equivalent RHD...

How much and how new?

What about this one in Cornwall?

This one is sold but you could contact them to keep a look out?

Or this site for lots of choices:

This might be about right? http://www.used-mercedescars.co.uk/...lename=glass&uniqueid=49965&vdealer=glass9264

Hope that helps though no doubt you have covered these bases already.

Cheers

Sparky.
