Hi there

I have a 2000 E55 AMG W210.

One day, the ABS and BAS lights showed up and suddenly the car wouldn't rev up anymore at all. As soon as you press the throttle it just hunts for revs. I scanned the car, and was getting the following fault:

C1022- Fault in CAN communication with control unit N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit)

Upon further investigation, I found that the engine control unit had bad water contamination. I sent it off to be repaired at a reputable company, and it arrived today. Plugged it in, deleted the faults, same thing happening. Same fault came back. I have also already tried to replace the electric throttle unit on the end of the cable. Any other ideas what it may be?

Thanks

What kind of scanner did you use to clear the code? Some scanners will clear the code but not perform a reset. I had that issue when the transmission in my R129 SL500 went to limp mode. I had to use a more sophisticated scanner to delete it.

I use the Autel and it worked for me. It sounds like you have a hard fault. I would talk to the people that repaired your ECU

I've sent the BAS control unit off and am currently waiting for them to test it.
