The design is appalling, I have take away the horizontal rubber seal in front of the wheelarches and am hoping that generous waxoyling and ventilation and cleaning out the tray feature inside, may give me a few years before big holes.
Just had a price from a local bodyshop (I know one of the owners) of £210:
fully underseal
paint
blend in as needed
of 2 wings which i supply.
I would also strip off the old wings etc and fit the new ones
What do people think on the price ????
I also go a price for doing the rear tailgate of £140, again I would strip down. It has rust around the top brake light, middle badge and 2 spots at the bottom; also a slight dink on the left of the handle

The regret you'll feel by having an imperfect repair, will long outweigh any joy at saving a few quid, better to spend £350 on a good job than £200 on a bad one. (BTW - Wish Id taken my own advice in the past.)

In the bodyshop that I sometimes work at we had a customer bring in a couple of W210 wings from Eurocarparts, we painted them and fitted them for him and they fitted very well, think they were about £50 each which is a hell of a saving over OEM.
