I have just upgraded the radio (audio 20, no fibre opticor sound amplifier ) in my car (W211, E200 1997) to an aftermarket headunit. Everything seems to work with the exception of AM radio reception (non-existent).
I tried to find some information on the internet and it seems that the there is "antenna amplifier" somewhere in the car and that needs 12V power which the original Audio 20 radio supplied when switched on. At least that is what I understood from various posts.
I notice on the aftermarket ISO wiring harness, position B3 there is a blue wire "amplifier controller", that is not connected to anything and in the antenna converter there is wire "35" that is "Automatic Antenna" as in the images attached
I think these two wires should be connected to the antenna amplifier but I am not sure. Can you help
please.I cant seem to find information which wire in the original harness is connected to the antenna amplifier and the location of the antenna amplifier.
