w211 e320cdi sport g7 with paddleshift
Hi everyone, I have noticed whilst driving my car seems to be stuck in gear and refusing to change up this has happened maybe 3 times in the last couple of weeks and after tuning off and on again car drives as normal. I have posted a picture of fault code displayed on scanner.
After doing a bit of research I think it's the conductor plate that's at fault, if anyone has had this same fault I would be interested to hear what they did to rectify the problem. My car is a 2007 e320cdi on nearly 175,000 miles now but I've kept on top with regular maintenance inc. transmission oil service about 18 months ago.

You really need a scan with STAR diagnostics to know for sure. The conductor plate is a very common problem. I had a similar problem with my old SLK 350 that turned out to be the gearbox speed sensor.

Had same problem with CLK years ago, new electro plate/conductor plate.
Get the codes read using STAR diagnostics first to make sure.

I've not put on star but a friend of mine let me use his autel, and it came up with the following stored fault.
0717 The signal from component y3/8n1 (turbine speed sensor) is unavailable.
Its pointing towards the conductor plate.
