W211 estate tailgate struts dilemma

Hi.

I replaced the strut on right side tailgate hinge on my W211 estate with stabilus gas spring strut same as the one I removed from the car.

However I noticed the other side had Liftomat gas spring different to the one on right side , checked parts catalog and seems as the Stabilus gas spring is the correct one.

Is it fine to leave it like this , or best to change the Liftomat to a Stabilus too?

Could it be previous owner fitted the Liftomat not knowing its not correct part ,or they are interchangeable?

Thanks

Lift o mat are good struts , but what is most important is the Nm rating of the strut (and the length...obviously) making sure the Nm rating is correct for the application and matched on both sides . Me ? I have always changed them in pairs.

I would guess ( but I could be wrong ) that as long as the stroke, overall length and force are correct, it doesn't matter whether it's a Liftomat, Stabilus, Boge or any other.

You can tell when they need replacing, the tailgate hits you on the head.

Or it stays open in the summer but despite weighing exactly the same it drops down on to your bonce in the winter ! Clear sign of blown lift cylinders 🤕

Actually the old spring strut was creaking and tailgate was hard to lift
