A Merc.
I thought I'd ask if anyone here knew the best place/source outside of the official network for exhausts, in particular for my W211 E220CDi?
Are the indies worth a bash? I've used Andy Gayle and MJH Cars in the West Mids, but is it worth my trying one of the generic chains - Kwik Fit etc? Any top tips or comments on experiences would be appreciated.

Is it the back box you`re after? Is it saloon?

Hmmm - out of interest what's your mileage? This is the first time I can remember seeing a W211 exhaust thread!

I'm just shy of 70k on an 03 plate. Its the brackets that appear to be dodgy - the exhaust itself looks ok.

get the brackets welded, common problem the exhaust last long that the brackets.
or have a look at this, Stainless Steel Car Exhaust Systems - Longlife Exhausts i was quoted £399 for my 2002 w210 from the cat back wards for a stainless steel exhaust,

I've had the brackets welded, so hopefully they will last 'til I change the car. I'll think about he stainless option - sounds reasonable, although slightly overkill on my ageing, diesel, motorway workhorse!

The point of a stainless exhaust is that it'll probably cost you the same or less than a genuine Mercedes exhaust. It's guaranteed for the life of the car (usually) and can be a selling point when you want to move the car on. The only negative I found is that it's difficult to get the same sound as an original - the stainless ones usually end up a little louder.

for a genuine MB exhaust for my car is about £1200, euro car parts charge £217 with out fitting,
