Just a thought. But you can buy blue tooth adapters off ebay for about £12 that does all that .

Morning Mate,

Did you find anything? I've just bought one the same and was looking at options which I could use.

There is some decent information here regarding upgrading from pre-NTG 2.5 to NTG 2.5.

However, as an owner of an '09 S211 with standard NTG 2.5 bluetooth, it won't stream music anyway. Bluetooth calls, yes, but it does not have the technology for music streaming. The car comes with a 3.5mm Aux input in the glovebox, which is inconvenient and poor when fed with the low volume output from an iPhone headphone socket.

The aftermarket CarPlay/Android Auto stuff from the chinese manufacturers like Erisin seem to be the easiest solution, and one I am considering myself as I like the idea of it looking almost OEM. I am imagining poor sound quality and flaky operating system in this aftermarket chinese stuff though, would love to hear from anyone who is happy with their implementation.

Martin.

See my recent thread: Adding bluetooth streaming (A2DP) to COMAND 2.5 | Electronics and Audio

I added bluetooth streaming to my NTG 2.5 with a £12 aux adapter that plugs right into the back of the unit. The quality is perfect, it was poor before using the 3.5mm aux jack.

@PhilG , I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this post and your link to your install thread. I bought, and fitted one of these cheap bluetooth receivers to my NTG2.5 S211 (mine is just the basic Audio 20, not Command). Early indications are very impressive, streaming music is so much easier than the glovebox aux socket, and sound quality seems perfectly fine in the noisy environment of a car.

Install took 30 minutes, all I needed was a T20 torx bit and some wire strippers to splice power from the cigar lighter socket feed.
