Yesterday whilst driving a red message came up on dash saying saying check tyre pressures. The passenger side rear was low so I put some air in and got home. When I took off the wheel to have a look I found the inner edge of tyre very badly worn but not all the way round maybe a third and it had nearly worn through. I just can't figure out why this would happen. I have had a full wheel alignment done and 2 new tyres fitted, everything is fine.i will try and attach pictures.

Most likely a failure of the internal wire bracing. If it starts to break up the tyre goes slightly out of shape, and will wear very unevenly. Often a pothole impact can be enough to start it off

Ok I think I will have to keep an eye on this one.

As the air bags age, they diminish in quality as do conventional springs. The sagging can lead to inner tyre wear as described. As such, the adjustment on the camber isn't available to the person doing the alignment/tracking.

Whilst no technician, I was talked through this my Joe at Wheels in Motion, a reputed mercedes alignment specialist. I don't know whether he works in that location any longer, as they were bought out by another firm. There is a thread discussing it somewhere on this forum, perhaps it was even started by myself!

In that case the wear would be even around the whole of the inner edge. The OP says he has wear on 1/3 of the tyre only.

I read it differently initially, but having re-read it I can visualise the unusual wear pattern as you suggest.

Do all w211's have these air bags or only if you have air suspension, I have never come across them on my car.

He still works there.
