Hi guys I'm looking to replace 2653518 rear tyres, for winter ones or all season., would 245 or 255/35 be okay?

Fronts are 2454018

Thanks

If you go down to a 245 then fit a 245/40 and not a 245/35 so that it will keep it the same overall diameter as the front.
A different option would be to get another set of rims in 16 or 17 inch and use those for the winter tyres - generally the narrower the tyre the better.

My E class Avantgarde,2009 E320cdi is on 17’s 245,45,17
I fit winters on 16’s which are 225,55,16

Thanks guys

You need to keep the rolling radius of the wheel /tyre combination the same all around.

If it has the Sports brake package then you will need 18" or 17" wheels

Your handbook will have a list of diffeent wheel and tyre combinations that may be supplied as standard.

Hi guys, nothing on the fuel filler door, and I am missing the manual for the car, Spoke to a tyre seller as i was struggling to find all season for the rear within my price, i was going to buy 255/35/18 but was told the rating is 94W XL lower rated which may or may not fail mot but i highly doubt anyone checks, in terms of saftey do you guys recommend i just replace with 255 or not?
or i could get 255/40/18 rated 99W SL

Or just fit same ones on the rear as the front?

fronts are 2454018
rears are 2653518

thanks

Don’t go for a lower load rating, as it could lead to a failure if you’re unlucky, and sometimes we bad luck strikes. It’s also likely to lead to no payout in the event of an insurance claim - insurance companies do check these things as it costs little to check and saves a lot of money if they find something amiss.

You’d be better off buying a cheaper brand - or used premium brand - in the right size and load rating.

The filler door only has recommenced pressures for a range of tyres.

245/40/18 all round should be fine and available but there is often greater choice in 17 inch tyres.

If using the 18 inch rims you must ensure that tyres on the rear are not too narrow for the rims as the rear wheels will probably be wider (i.e 8.5J or 9J) than the front wheels

Just throwing any size on will affect the abs and Speedo readings. Do your homework delboy.

The fuel flap states the tyre sizes . Those are what needs to be fitted . End of story .

A better option is buying aftermarket alloys in 18 inch and have a square set up.

Your rear wheels may take a 245 40 18 .ask at a tyre centre.

You'd also need all season or winters fitted on the front wheels.
