Hi folks,

Anyone know if a W211 towbar Will fit a W219?

I know the CLS isn’t type approved for towing but apparently depending on your insurer it’s an acceptable modification for bike rack only purposes.

Recently got into eMTBs which are great fun but heavy to lift onto the roof carrier. Also for full family outings loading onto a low level towbar rack will be much easier.

Any recommendations on towbar brand? Removable preferred.

I’d get it in writing from your insurer before fitting.

These guys do towbar specifically for cars that aren’t type approved. Just for bike rack purposes.

None listed for the W219 though..

Bike carrier towbar - A towbar to transport your bikes.

Pay attention to the tow-bar nose weight, usually between 45Kg and 75Kg, depending on how many e Bikes you have and the weight of your bike rack you could exceed it.
