W211 upper wishbone mounting rust

The work is complete and was quite involved. Bottom line is £2650 inc VAT for the welding work, dismantling and reassembly of the front suspension and components in the engine bay, application of Bilt Hamber rust products, wheel alignment and ride height setting.
Ouch! I paid less than that for my 2005 w211.. currently on 113k miles

WOW! That seems to be be an incredible bill and would almost certainly mean curtains for my car if that was the forecast. I've yet to take the wheel arch liners off to inspect thoroughly. I guess your's being an E500 makes the bill more palatable.

I paid 360 quid to weld mine

A welder just been around and quoted 400 quid to fix..... doesn't sound too bad I think , but will try and get another quote
Hi, I have the same can you please give me the details of your wilder I need to use him as I have it on both sides of my W211 2003, and many thanks. Thair

Am going through this issue as well now. Currently in body shop getting looked at. Have been advised after fixing the rust to coat it with Cobra Coating. So will see how it goes

A lot of stone and dirt gets trapped in there.

So far Its been cleaned, sanded and zinc primer applied.

This is before any treatment work

I just fixed the rust on my w211. The Danish salty winterroads did its thing on mine. New steel has been added and everything has been treated inside and out.
I did mine so the "wall" is no longer there to trap the dirt and water. Lets see if it's better.

The black/purple you see on the before pictures is a rust stop product I sprayed on so it wouldn't get worse until I had time to fix it.

Regards Christian

Just realised what you did, does removing the wall affect structural intergrity? or did you add plates on top instead or removing any metal?
