I am slowly getting to grips with my E63 and enjoying it enormously. Clearly these cars are packed with technology and I do not always know which display I should be looking at.

This is the case when I am reversing. Every car I have had that has Reverse Sensors beeps when approaching an obstacle, but mine does not. I mentioned it today during a courtesy call from the supplying dealer and he told me that the distance is initially represented by illuminating lights, and only beeps when the car is very close to the obstacle.

Where are the Reverse Sensor illuminating lights displayed ?

If you watch the rear view mirror hopefully you'll see the light(s) ;)

Thank you very much, I will give it a go :wallbash:

Perhaps I am old fashioned as when I learned to drive I was taught to look in the direction of travel, so when reversing look out of the rear screen. Interestingly when my sons learned to drive (about 10 years ago) they were taught to reverse using the mirrors :dk:

I have just had a look - so that will be the gloss black thing above the rear centre head rest, and this will allow me to look backwards when reversing whilst monitoring the Reverse Sensors.

So what does the similar looking black gloss thing do in the centre of the dash board - the front sensors presumably ?

Yes, and yes. In that order ;)
