Good afternoon, I have found some threads on here that suggest my symptoms (in the title) could be rear dampers, my local independent Merc specialist won’t comment over the phone if this is a common fault and charge £99 per hour for fault diagnosis and won’t commit to how long it will take them to diagnose, obviously I’m not interested in starting an indefinite diagnosis process but no the same breath don’t want to start randomly swapping parts as in an attempt to fix the issue! I’m a mechanic by trade but no longer have access to a ramp so was hoping for opinions on how to proceed, the car has just done 50k miles so having to replace rear dampers is difficult for me to comprehend, are ARB drop links common for failing at this mileage? Do the rear dampers present with loads of play when they become noisy?
