W213 Rear Entertainment Options

Hi all

I have an E63s (W213) and I’m looking at my options for fitting rear entertainment. I understand at one point a w213 could be spec’d with the rear entertainment “ready” seats, which is basically just the plug in point for a Mercedes or third party screen that plugs into the back of the front seats. I understand you can get iPad holders but that’s not what I’m after.

is anything like this availible from a third party or something I can get from a dealer and fit myself? My other option is just visiting my local ICE fitters in cardiff who will fit screens into the headrests.

I'm not sure if screens in the headrests are such a good idea these days. Although it looks more OEM, you're limited to what screen size you can have. You've also got to think about what you're going to connect to the screen - gone are the days of having a DVD player under the seat hooked up to the screen. You'd be looking at getting Apple TV or a google chromecast connected to it.

I'd be more inclined to get a decent mount for an Ipad or other tablet rather than having the limitations of just a screen. You can get good ones that mount to the headrest. They won't look as integrated but it would probably be more functional. I've got one in my E class and my son loves it as he can adjust the angle etc to suit and it holds both his Ipad and Nintendo switch so he's kept well entertained on long trips.
