The rear parking sensors of my W213 E-Class seem to have developed a fault. When you put the car in reverse all of the segments light up red and the warning beeps sound, then they don’t do anything as you reverse up to an object.

They all look in good order and I’ve cleaned them all. Is there any way to reset them or somehow diagnose if one of them is faulty?

Try reading the OBD codes, they'll probably indicate that there's an issue with a specific sensor.

An OBD fault scan doesn’t bring up any results. That said, I’m using a fairly old OBD2 Bluetooth scanner and the Torque app - which is normally good for engine-related faults. Do I need something newer/different to retrieve these type of faults?

My iCarsoft scanner reads each sensor and reports which is faulty. Maybe see if anyone local has one you might borrow.

Good shout, thanks. I’m not averse to buying one but would like to avoid shelling out £200+ if I can avoid it.

I’m located in North Hampshire (RG27 postcode) if anyone’s local and generous enough to let me borrow it for 2-3 mins please.
