I seem to be getting a lot of this inside on the rear screen and the rear heater seems to take ages to clear it

Any thoughts on how i can resolve or help it

You've got damp in the cabin. The rear screen heater is designed to clear frost/ice on the outside not condensation on the inside.
Do you use the a/c all the time?
Do the carpets feel damp, especially around the bottom of the A pillars?
Damp/wet coats in the boot?

Just checked the carpets they are dry all over

It's generally recommended to use the a/c continuously to help dry out the cabin air, especially in the cooler months.
There is a negligible impact on fuel economy and it helps ensure a/c system seals remain well lubricated. Win, win...

In winter my car will mist up pretty quickly if I turn the aircon off. It is supposed to be on all the time as even if you have the heater on it makes a huge difference to the "dryness" of the air in the car.....a/c on!
