Does anyone know where the makers name is on the Radiator, I have been told there are two makes, Bheru and Valeo

It is normally on the top.

Why do you need to know?

Well I was talking to someone who sells parts and was telling him about the car and mileage when we got on to the subject of the Gearbox, He said that although they are supposed to sealed for the life of the car, some owners have found that the fluid turned to a Toffe like substance due to the radiator not cooling the fluid in the box:dk: It seems to happen with the Valeo radiator by all accounts.Has anybody heard of this happening.

Many Thanks for that an intersting thread I did not realise so many were affected. Do you think at 73000 I should change it anyway. Last Year I had a Grand Cherokee an 03 and what a load of rubbish that was, every time I drove it and it warmed up, if I stopped and turned the engine off, when I re-started it, it would not change up, seemed to keep going into limpin mode.

I don't have the service book and can't seem to find any info on servicing schedules also what oils pas fluid, etc to use.

No need to replace at that mileage in my opinion...assuming that the car is keeping its cool and not overheating or losing coolant.

Ps: Grand Cherokee's can be seriously nasty bits of kit

Hi, I am new to the forum and as yet cannot send private messages.
Having a C203 53 plate, which I believe is towards the end of the valeo radiator problem, I looked at your attachment to check my vin number. However I am a litttle confused so could you advise me with VIN WDB2037422A539136 3 and Transmission 21127032000451628804
should I be concerned.
I would also be interested in your views re replacing the ATF fluid around the 40,000m mark, as some say yes and some say not necessary.

Thanks

Olly is probably going to be away for a while to spend time with his partner and their newborn so may not reply very soon.

Im sure he will get back to you when he can. In the mean time why dont you check which radiator you have on your car, you may not even have a valeo rad. Unless you've already checked.

That was quick! I have looked for labels or to see how the sides are connected but there is so much plastic cowling stuff in the way I cannot really see. Any clues where the labels or marks are?
Thanks
