My key fob is not operating correctly. After I remove from ignition it locks and unlocks the doors no problem and sets the alarm with hazard confirmation.
After 10 minutes I am unable to use any button on my key fob and have to open the drivers door with emergency key. I have replaced batteries in key fob, but now the alarm is activating after a short period of locking the vehicle. Then l am having to restart the whole process. Any advice on where the problem may lie please.:wallbash::wallbash:

Hi and welcome, has your car had a flat battery,if so did you get it jump started with another battery, was your ignition key in the ignition, this can sometimes cause key problems, have you got another key does that not work, search the web for w221 key programming there is a way to reset the key

Hi and many thanks for the welcome.. l recently disconnected the battery but this problem was before this. The other key is experiencing the same problem. They both do not open the car, but after the key has been in the ignition they lock and open the vehicle but after a while the fobs won't work??

Check your consumer battery. Sounds like the starter battery is fine but the consumer battery is flat (at the trunk behind the panel, you can measure it from the engine bay too).

Thanks Diesel Benz l have checked the consumer battery and it's fine, so am still at a loss!!
It's looking like a trip to the specialists...

Guys,

Many thanks for the help when l eventually removed the boot liners the consumer battery was showing charge when motor running, but gradually lost its charge which resulted in key fob being inoperable and alarm activating.

I have installed a new consumer battery and everything now is working as they should be.:bannana:

Thanks once again for the advice.
