Evening everyone,

Last year I bought a cheap Bluetooth adapter off Fleabay to add Bluetooth functionality to the Audio 20 in my 2006 W245. It's worked well but I think I made a mistake splicing the wiring into the heating controls for the power as it started whining whenever I put the heater onto the second or fourth blower settings. Anyway, I'd like to do it again and do it properly this time.

I've bought a new adapter just to be safe and would like to know where is the best place to get power from. I don't want to connect it to the head unit's power source as that it always on and it will flatten the car battery. I need a power source which comes on with the ignition only. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should hook it up to?

Thanks

From the cigarette lighter? From the back-end of the socket, th, I.e. after removing the relevant trim but for access etc. The 12V socket will typically have a 15A fuse.

Thanks. I'll have to have a poke around and see how easy it is to get the trim off down there.

There you go Mark :)

I've done it many times - very easy to do, and access to the power socket wiring is unobstructed, once the tray is out.
