I've spent all day trying to repair my rear wiper motor and screen wash.

I replaced the contact disc and the wiper now works, but there was water in the motor casing when I disassembled it and it appears to be that the water inlet fitting is leaking internally where it fits to the motor casing.

I note that some replacement motors on ebay have the same type of water inlet fitting as mine, a square white or black plastic block which fits over four black pins like this one:

Same as my current leaking Valeo motor

The other type has a black elbow that doesn't have the square mounting block thingy.

Like this one

Does anyone have experience of replacing the motor, and which type of inlet fitting is less likely to leak into the motor casing and then into the bottom of the tailgate?

Thanks

Could you simply seal the fitting with silicone?

I did consider that, but I don't think it's going to be a reliable fix.

The wash tubing and wiper jets were full of debris and I think that forced the fitting off under pressure, so I don't want that to happen again and end up encouraging rust in the tailgate.
