I drove all the way from Manchester to a dealers in Slough to look at this car in November and it was very disappointing. It wouldn't start despite being on charge and running when we arrived, there was a secondary battery in the boot and the plastics near this battery round the light cluster were melted, suggesting to me that this car had actually been on fire. The bootlid was sticking up severely on the right-hand side, the undertray and arch liners were hanging off and covered in overspray and there is no service history to back up the mileage. Additionally the pictures used are very old, probably from one or two owners previous.

Granted these faults may be fixed by now but I felt obliged to warn people. They have been trying to sell this car for over a year now and it looks nothing like it does in these pictures.

DO NOT BID WITHOUT VIEWING THE CAR FIRST!!!

If you look back through the feedback he sold a CLK Black last year for 53k euros.

I see he's now found the service history. Could be genuine, could be fake.

To be fair, it would be very surprising if you found a W210 that had NOT had paintwork done; quite apart from the fact that they were part of Mercedes' ferric oxide range and era, not many fifteen-year-old cars with that sort of mileage will not have seen paint at some point.

I don't want a n/a E55 since I got the E55K:devil:, but when I am thinking of buying a car or bike, I Google the registration, just to see what comes up, so your post could be invaluable to someone like me considering a bid. Thank you.

Granted, Jacob Trading have a most interesting used car website. They were advertising this very same car on eBay last year when I went to see it too. However, I saw none of these amazing high-end cars when I visited because the actual site I viewed the car at was a grotty portakabin called Motor Palace on the Bath Road in Slough and the E55 was the most expensive car they had. Presumably this is another site they have where they offload all the crap.

I know all W210's have had paintwork. I also know all about dodgy paintwork and excessive overspray. You could tell someone had been messing with the wiring in the engine bay by looking at it. You couldn't tell what wires they were though because many of them were now silver. Some of the wiring was hanging out inside down the sills and alongside the back seats; it just looked like it had been taken apart and put back together by someone in a rush who didn't care. And then painted blindfolded with a paint cannon.

I wouldn't have bothered posting at all if they hadn't said "buy as is in the pictures" on their advert. It didn't look like those pictures a year ago and probably doesn't now! I took some pictures of my own when I viewed it, I'll try and dig them up if anyone is interested.

Here is a link to the actual dealership. I think the review (not mine) speaks for itself.

Pictures look great , but defo something doesn't seem right with it !!!!! IMO

I could be wrong but the number plates look like they have been photo shopped
or similar as the front number plate looks to white for me and the last letter on the plate is lower than the rest.

Any car described as being in "clean" condition is always going to be rough.

Dude makes random unhelpful comment. All I'm saying is view the car before you bid. It looks mint in the photos. I fell for it and wasted a day of my life. Then I found a 16-year-old W210 I was happy with.
