During recent heavy rain I noticed my boot lid had filled with water! Can't see any obvious entry points. Anyone else experienced this ('07 W211)?

Third brake light or behind the number plate holder . There are many holes and popper clips with a small rubber ring seal on them . Easy fix is to apply a bead of silicone the full length of the plastic number plate holder at the top where the gap is . Third brake can also be sealed .

When you open the boot does water pour out from the edges onto the parcel shelf ??

Might be worth looking to see if your car has a blocked boot lid drain hole somewhere.

This my thread when I had water in my W211 boot .
Prior to this I had removed the rear light clusters and sealed around them with RTV sealant before putting them back again .
The other thing I did at a similar time was to remove chrome trim section on the boot or the section below it which holds the number plate (I can’t remember) and seal the gap above or below the trim with RTV sealant as well .
Been leak free since doing all that .

Boot lid....not boot....Well that's how I read it. Im guessing he has water between the inner and outer boot

Its water collecting in the boot lid, not inside the boot. Thanks for all your comments, I'll check it out when it stops raining, or IF it stops raining!!).
