As above.

Yours will be COMAND NTG4.5 Gen 2 (aka NTG4.7).

Your car will also have the KOM Module that allows you to subscribe to the TomTom Live Traffic Data service, which replaces the free TMC service (assuming that the COMAND unit came with the car from the factory, and is not a retrofit).

Also, you should have Speed Sign Assist (operated via a camera behind the RVM and GPS data), and reverse camera, both of which came with the COMAND bundle on MY 2014 W204 cars.

And last... your car with the factory-fitted COMAND option would have free 3 years maps update. So if you are lucky and the maps were last updated in 2017, then it wouldn't be too much out of date.

Correct I do have a reverse camera I cannot see the speed sign assist in menus on command.
And the maps on sat nav never been updated reading various posts it says should be updated on services guess not.

On screen it say Map data version no :
2014 (V10.0) Europe

Do you have the speed limit showing on your instrument cluster (LCD display behind the speedometer)?

Or you could run the VIN on one of the free MB VIN decoders websites and check the car's Datacard to see what options it came with.

Latest map version for NTG4.5 is 2018 v17.0.

The update requires a maps DVD and a PIN which is unique to your VIN. You can get these from the dealer for around £200, or from www.comandinline.co.uk for less.

Yes I have the digital speedo in the cluster.
Great responses on here really impressed means a lot.

And I would love to get speed cams working too I guess that can happen via the sd card ?

I was not referring to the digital speedometer... but to a speed limit that looks something like this:

Unfortunately COMAND does not have native support for speed camera alerts. You can upload the locations of the speed cameras as personal POI (download or purchase the database from 3rd party on the Internet, then copy it to an CD-card), but it will simply show on the satnav map as POI i.e. you will not be altered by audio or by visual signal when approaching the POI. So it will work only if you actively look-out for cameras along the route.

My looks similar to that picture but I done have the green lines and road I do get the speed limits though no audio alert.

The symbol of the car with the signpost next to it is Traffic Sign Assist, which is part of the COMAND bundle for the W204 of your MY.

The symbol of the two cars bumper-to-bumber, and the two green lines, and the distance in metres, are Distronic and Lane Keep Assist, which are part of the he Driving Assistance package (which also includes Blind Spot Assist in the wing mirrors) - I am assuming your car does not have that.

Good news update my dealer has asked me to book car in get the updates done with the latest maps applied FOC so happy.
Nice to finish this post with a great result.

Thanks for all the responses looking forward to the new maps.

It's also a good idea generally to get the COMAND software updated at the same time as the maps (assuming that newer software version is available). I suggest that you run this by the dealer and see what they say.... if they are MB dealers (or MB specialists) then they should be able to update the software using MB STAR diagnostic computer at no cost to them (other than the tech's time).

And while you're at it.... you might also get them to update the software for the automatic transmission... and engine ECU... etc etc.... :)
Yes MB ownership can become quicksand very quickly if you get too enthusiastic about it (who, me?? never... ahmm )
