I've got a 12" sub in the back of my C180. Does this mean I should get rid of the speakers behind the headrests, seeing as they're only used for low frequncies anyway?
Would this also give me better bass, as I'd have two ports into the cabin coming from the boot?

So confused... :\

What I would recomend doing would be to replace them with a pair of 6*9 just check before you buy that the magnet will fit through the original hole unless you plan on cutting the body work.

I have fitted a 12" SUb and Kenwood 7*10's The 7*10's are a very tight fir to say the least so 6*9's would probably be the easier option. The only plus to the kenwoods is that i have not had to seccure them in place as the shelf hold the down securely an all the other trim panels hold the shelf into place.

Overall sound has improved immensly now all i need to do is replace the fron door speakers.

If you have a sub in the boot you have absolutly no need for 6x9's or really any speaker on the rear deck! Not only will you not hear them, the you will probably just kill them with the amount of air a decent sub will shift!

I recommend either fading your rear speakers down (or off), setting the crossover on your headunit (if it has one) so the rears are only playing higher notes or if this doesn't give the sound you want, remove them and let your sub breathe.

agree with graham!, i took my shelf speakers out and replaced the front and put in some in the rear doors, therefore subs had airflow in the cabin.

doesnt help that i smoked my sub amp over the weekend tho! :(
