Hello to all,

In the Comand Engineering Mode there are two options, "Enable LCT Feature" and "Enable IPS Feature".

Any know what are this options?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so what is comand engineering mode, (I presume this is for COMAND-APS, since the Comand 2.0 does definetly not have those 2 options) - and how do you get into it ??

I tried to enter into engineering mode once, succesfully. Now, it seems that it doesn't want to enter into this mode again :) I know it sounds stupid, but.... :)
is there another hint??
I have Comand Aps (DVD) on my C 230 2005 model....
What is the big deal in entering this engineering mode, anyway??? (is there much I can change??))

Thanx....

Paco,

I reckon that LCT is "Low Cost Teleaid" which apparantly is a telemetrics system for a dealer or MB to connect to the car remotely if there was a problem with the vehicle.
Obviously need a fully integrated phone for that to work.

ISP could simply mean Internet Service Provider - the COMAND has WAP capability - again via a suitably connected phone

Steve, I think LCT is in deed Low Cost Teleaid, which I they seem to be going to use in the USA

I'm pretty sure IPS is not ISP - but is some sort of extra navigation system used in Korea

I say this because I watched a chap with Star Diagnosis, and one of the options on SDS is "external navigation system, valid for Korea/China"

Cheers
Richard

I'm only sort of guessing - I did enable them on my COMAND but it didn't behave any differently so I turned them back off!

I know, this is an old thread but IPS is Curvematic. Doesn't work in all cars apparently. Curvmatic is a feature that tells the driver audible and visual if he approaches a curve too fast.

If one enables it in COMAND only it will stay on until the system goes to sleep then it's disabled again. Permanently on only possible if coded with SD and in COMAND.

Thanks, thats something for me to play with very soon :-)

Heads up for you Richard. It is not always working. It depends on the country, sw version of cluster and other factors. The data for it is stored on the map DVD or not. In the US for example it is not working because the data isn't included on the map DVD. In Germany we found out some cluster do not support it based in sw version (I'm always talking about W211 with COMAND APS NTG1). Some believe if the AMG logo is set as boot logo on the COMAND it is also not working.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
I'm going to try it on NTG2.5 since that is all I have (on MY09 ML, and on a SL which has had it all retrofitted). But I dont think i'll be testing it for a while as it is snowing !

It won't work with NTG2.5. It was something on NTG1s only.

Thats a shame since if I recall correctly there is a setting for that .. I will try it and see if it enables any menus

Following this thread with interest... ;)

Anyone had any luck with that?
I know it's an old thread but very interesting.

What would you like to accomplish with these 2 settings? Once we clarified this we might be able to answer your question :D

It was included in the software but has zero functionality when enabled or disabled. Remember it's within the Engineering menu. It was there for engineers while developing the system and the car. Same thing with developer functions in Star Diagnosis. Not every single function there actually has underlying software and toggling on or off these things don't do anything.
