What is the meaning of LIM in the parking sensor display?

Being new to the forum I am not sure if this the correct place to post this but here goes:- I have just bought a 2017 E220d (W213) Estate and sometimes when manoeuvring the letters LIM appear at the top left hand side of the parking sensor display (the one next to the camera display that shows "radar" lines). Does anyone have any idea what this is trying to tell me? I know LIM usually refers to the speed limiter but is it something different in this instance? There is no mention of it in the surprisingly poor Mercedes manual. Thanks.

LIM = Look In Manual and it will explain :D

Seriously, it's speed limiter in standard cars, not sure about within parking sensor display?

Speed limiter is a function whereby, when it is set, you cannot exceed the speed you have set...usually.

Don't know about the other function but...I presume you have a manual for the car?

That was the point of the post. I know LIM often means speed limiter but does the car switch it on by itself during parking but only sometimes - doesn't make much sense. Therefore does it mean something else in the parking display? The fact it is in capitals suggests it may an abbreviation for three words (like Look in Manual). There is no mention of this in the Parking Pilot or Park Assist sections in the manual.

As I said, there is no mention in the manual as to why this should be in the parking display and what it means. The fact is in capitals suggests it may mean something else other than Limiter.

What about 'Look In Mirror'??

Do you have Speed limit Pilot? Could it be the system is automatically adopting the current road speed limit?

Surely this limits the reversing speed.
Good idea and, on reflection, it probably means either forward or reverse is limited depending on which gear is selected. It does appear when close to objects.
It is really bad that the poorly written manual leaves one guessing. I have found various features mentioned with absolutely no description of what they actually do. I just hope Mercedes engineers are better than their technical writers.

It's a real shock that anyone would wrongly assume you hadn't read the manual, and then be really condescending about it and have to eat their own words.

So surprised.
