What Is This For ?

Just discovered this in the top of my glovebox, any ideas what it's for. Hopefully it's something to do with the media player as I am still trying to find a way of streaming music from my iPhone.

Media Interface socket. You should also have a lead set, including one with an iPhone 30-pin connector on the end. Assuming you have an iPhone 5 or later then you'll need a genuine Apple 30-pin to Lightning adaptor to hook it all together. This will allow full control of the iPhone music library from the car.

I have a USB socket in the armrest of my W204 so I can use a standard USB- Lightning lead.
