What is this?

I have 2021 GLC300, I have just lifted the boot space flooring and noticed the below connector or what I believe is a connector, does anyone know what this is and where it should be?

I have posted photos of the item and where it was found.

The car runs perfectly so I assume nothing vital.

Looks like an electrical connection , non MB that someone has left in there .
