Wanted to get some opinion as to what my car is worth. It's been on Autotrader for a while at what I think is a good price and I haven't had a sniff. Thoughts??

You didn't mention the age of the car

Ah yes sorry, 2012 (62)

In my view that's a pretty good price assuming it's in clean condition, for private sale anyway.

Have you WBAC'd it for reference?

James.

Thanks James, yes WBAC came out at £14,110. Not sure if the lack of interest is just down to the time of year or people's appetite (or lack of) for petrol cars?

If you want £15k(I'm guessing you want 15 and are asking 15300 for some movement) for a car and wbac are offering £14,100.
personally I'd snap their hand off simply because of the no hassle and time saving. You've already lost some time and money with the autotrader ad.

The WBAC offer was tempting but given how well it's been maintained I feel like I'm giving it away at that money.....

If I went to look at a car advertised by a private seller for £15,300 I'd be looking to get it for £14,500 or less.
I think most private buyers with that kind of cash would think the same.

You'll have to deal with people like me to get that extra £400!

Wbac is no hassle and the offer you have seems to be an acceptable one and the one I would go for.

Seeing as it has no sold, either their is no desire for that model from buyers or the price is not right.

Personally if I needed the space and or money I would bite WBAC arm off. If not I would wait it out and see if the better weather yields better results.

I'm guessing this WBAC price is just a generic quote, and not an actual visual quote by going to see them in person so be prepared for them to offer you lower than 14k

If OP has accurately described the condition then the quote should be honored. I've off loaded a couple of cars to them, mainly to get rid quickly and avoid private sale hassle knowing I'd pay for that convenience. On both occasions I have described the car and any marks accurately and not been 'knocked down' at all, there is the Admin fee of course. In both cases they offered more than any MB dealer, for straight sale or PX.

Getting back to the point, every one is probably skint given the time of year and with snow lying on the ground may not be thinking about buying themselves a new, RWD, motor right now.

I guess it comes down to how long you can wait and whether you're paying finance payments in the meantime.

I think you have priced it right, quite tempting actually, its just the time of year, try other mediums, ebay buy it now, also on here and the other Mercedes forum.
Be patient, if the car is as described the buyer is out there, I'm sure come the spring you will get a sale if you can wait. I got almost that on p/x in July for a 62 plate C220 Amg sport Plus saloon in perfect condition with 19k on the clock, mind you I was buying a new AMG Line Premier Plus Estate. What are you getting next?

Yup, same here.

£14,110 sounds like a decent price (not always the case) so I'd jump at that, personally. You might get a couple of hundred more selling privately but at the cost of time and hassle. That fact that you've had no enquires at all so far suggests you might have to drop the asking price a bit anyway (and then still have people haggling). Good luck anyway, whichever way you go!

Thanks for the feedback all, much appreciated. I've got a week or so before the new car arrives (needed something bigger so ended up with a Touareg of similar age) so I'll try my luck and get it on a few more sites as suggested. I'll go with WBAC if all else fails. Will be sad to see it go....
