Over the last two or three years I've had punctures and wheel damage from hitting potholes resulting in new tyres and wheel straightening that's cost me around the £200 mark each time. (x3)
I don't drive around at excessive speed and keep within the speed limits.
I've been considering ditching my 18" wheels (CLK) and going for something smaller (17") which would give me an inch more tyre, I assume. However, I'm about to collect an SL, which is wearing 19"rims.:(
Would putting 18's on give me any more rubber or simply leave me were I am now with my CLK.
Any advice/ thoughts would be gratefully received.

Cheers

That’s a lovely CLK. I’m not sure that the wheel diameter is your problem here. They look like aftermarket wheels and aftermarket wheels can vary from OEM quality to shocking.

I’d buy some secondhand AMG wheels in 17 inch or 18 inch and you’ll be fine. Specifically go for AMG III or AMG IV and they’ll look great too.

Thanks Micky. Bobby, that had never occurred to me, thank you very much.
